These Terms and Conditions (T&C) govern all interactions between users and LetzGo Carsharing regarding peer-to-peer car rental services in Luxembourg. By registering and using the LetzGo Carsharing platform, users agree to these terms and applicable Luxembourg laws. Our Help Center on the website www.letzgo-carsharing.lu, including the Respect Rules and fees, as well as our Troubleshooter Guide, are integral parts of these terms.
LetzGo Carsharing reserves the right to update these T&C at any time. Users will be notified via email.
In cases of misuse, frequent vehicle damage, or any other inappropriate behavior, we may terminate your access to LetzGo Carsharing services without notice. Payments already made are non-refundable, and all bookings, credits, etc. will be cancelled.

1.2 Renters
LetzGo Carsharing is Luxembourg's first peer-to-peer carsharing platform! Our goal is to make mobility accessible from anywhere in the country by providing nationwide carsharing services. We prioritize our customers, including loyal car owners and individuals seeking a nearby, quick, cost-saving, and flexible vehicle option. Our motto: Creating a win-win for all participants in the LetzGo Carsharing network.
To achieve this, every car must be treated with respect, as if it were your own. While unforeseen events can occur, our service provides comprehensive insurance free of charge.
Please always read and follow our Respect Rules for renters and owners, as well as our FAQ and troubleshooter guides, to avoid additional costs. Owners and your wallet will thank you!
Important! Accidents can become expensive. Out of respect for our loyal hosts and to encourage careful handling of the vehicles, we must deduct a €50 processing fee in the event of an accident caused by you. However, you can avoid this fee with the Platinum subscription. For vehicle immobilization during repairs, €25 will be charged from the second day of immobilization for each additional day. In the case of a total loss, €450 + €100 processing fee (or €450 + €0 accident fee with Platinum subscription) applies.
The LetzGo Carsharing Assistance service is solely for accidents and breakdowns.
The LetzGo Carsharing Call Center is only for exceptional cases not covered on our website’s Help Center or FAQs. Repeated unnecessary calls may be charged.
General Rules:
• Renters must be at least 21 years old or have held a valid Luxembourgish or EU-recognized driver’s license for at least two years.
• Both renters and vehicle owners must provide valid identity verification, including a government-issued ID and proof of vehicle ownership (for owners).
• You must always have valid identification that permits you to operate a vehicle on public roads.
• Before starting your trip, carefully follow our damage checklist to ensure that any potential damage is not wrongly attributed to you.
• Ensure your credit card is always chargeable; otherwise, Respect Fees may apply, and the rental will be declined.
• Return the LetzGo vehicle to the agreed parking location on time.
• Adhere to the usage rules set by the vehicle owner.
• Clean and ventilate the vehicle if necessary before the reservation ends.
• Ensure the fuel tank is at least 25% full, or if it is an electric vehicle, ensure it is properly connected to a charging station and charging.
• You are responsible for any traffic violations; you are the driver!
• LetzGo insurance covers everything except self-inflicted damage and breakdowns. In such cases, you are liable according to the rules of your selected subscription, additional options, and the relevant LetzGo Respect Rules.
1.3 Vehicle Owners:
The vehicle owner agrees to have a control unit installed in their vehicle (invisible and removable at any time), which provides the app with access to the vehicle.
General Rules:
• Always carefully check the renter's documents and details in the rental agreement to ensure they meet the stated conditions. You may cancel rentals if you have a valid reason.
• In the event of an accident, breakdown, or other damage, the renter and/or our insurance will cover the costs. Your personal insurance is not considered during a rental, so your bonus-malus rating will not be affected. However, it must always be readily available in the glove box, e.g., for police inspections.
• The renter must be at least 21 years old and/or have held a valid driver’s license for at least two years.
• Subleasing the rented vehicle to other individuals or companies is strictly prohibited!
• The renter must always be the primary driver. The ID, driver’s license, and payment method must all match the renter's name.
• Vehicles may only be driven within the radius defined by our service outside Luxembourg (Germany, France, Belgium up to 5 km in a straight line). If the limit is exceeded, both the renter and you will receive an alert via the app. If the renter does not respond, you must contact them to understand the situation. Without a valid explanation or response, you must immediately contact the LetzGo Carsharing Call Center. The vehicle will be immobilized, and the renter will be notified to prevent possible theft.
• Vehicles may only be used for private purposes. Commercial or political use of LetzGo vehicles is prohibited.
Your vehicle may not be used for commercial passenger transportation.
• LetzGo Carsharing insurance is active from the moment the renter unlocks the vehicle until they lock it and leave it in a secure condition. In other words, our insurance only covers the reserved rental period.
• Smoking in LetzGo vehicles is prohibited out of respect for other renters!
• Luxembourgish laws and road traffic regulations apply in all cases.
• The renter is solely responsible for any items or animals they bring on board.
1.4 Our Standard: Expectations for Vehicles and Owners
Vehicle Requirements:
• Registered in Luxembourg.
• Registered in your name, or you have authorization from the owner to list it on LetzGo Carsharing.
• Covered by liability insurance.
• Inspected and has a valid technical inspection.
• Not a motorhome, unlicensed vehicle, or driving school car.
• Has driven less than 150,000 km.
• Less than 10 years old.
• Modified vehicles are not allowed on the platform. Failure to disclose modifications may result in the loss of insurance coverage.
• All pre-existing damage must be listed in the damage checklist before renting out the car.
• Before handing over the car to the next renter and/or before the first rental, check (if time allows) the cleanliness of the car, both inside and out.
Standards for Vehicle Condition:
• Upon registration, thoroughly clean the car or have it professionally cleaned (we monitor this through photos).
• Ensure the car is in a clean and “presentable” condition on the outside.
• If a justified complaint is raised, a special cleaning fee may be charged to you.
• Keep your calendar up-to-date to avoid unsuitable requests.
• Update your calendar as often as possible.
• Avoid canceling bookings unless it’s an emergency.
• Be honest in the vehicle description and upload high-quality photos of your car.
• Rent out a safe and clean car. The renter is also responsible for returning the car in the same clean condition.
Maintenance and Preparedness for All Seasons and Weather Conditions:
• Tire pressure and condition.
• Lights and indicators (high beam, low beam, parking lights, fog lights, reverse lights, hazard lights, turn signals, dashboard lights, and license plate illumination).
• Properly adjusted headlights.
• Brakes (brake pads, discs, fluid).
• Windshield condition (repair chips or cracks).
• Fluids (engine oil, brake fluid, coolant, windshield washer fluid).
• Wipers, rearview mirrors, spare tire, warning triangle, and safety vest.
• Refuel the car fully before the first rental.
• Prepare the car for winter conditions (tires, lights, battery, antifreeze, all other fluids).
Important:
• When in doubt, do not rent the car!
• Failure to meet these standards may result in the loss of insurance coverage in the event of damage.
Post-Accident Protocol for Owners:
If an accident occurs, the owner is requested to continue renting the car as planned for the rest of the month after repairs. Why? If the owner decides to remove their vehicle from the platform post-accident, this is entirely understandable. However, time is required to remove the control unit, onboard a new owner, install the control unit in their vehicle, etc. This ensures a steady vehicle supply in areas where renters need cars, preventing sudden shortages.
2.1 Renter Subscriptions, Rental Prices, and Billing
Our primary goal is to ensure customer satisfaction and provide a premium experience with no hidden costs or unpleasant surprises. To this end, we’ve created this guide to inform customers about all possible costs and to explain how invoices are structured. Afterward, it is up to the customer to act according to their preferences.
To rent a car through LetzGo, every customer must complete the registration process and select a subscription plan that meets their needs.
Subscription Duration:
The subscription lasts for one (1) year. This means the selected subscription fee will be charged monthly for at least one (1) year. After completing each year, your subscription will automatically renew for the following year unless you cancel it or switch to another subscription plan.
You have a one-month trial period during which you may cancel your subscription entirely or switch to another plan. However, this option is available only once per year to prevent frequent changes.
Subscription | Standard (€0) | Silver (€9.95/month) | Gold (€19.95/month) | Platinum (€29.95/month) |
---|---|---|---|---|
Deductible in case of accident | Max €1,500 + €50 accident fee | Max €1,500 (€1/hour reduces deductible to €1,200) + €40 accident fee | Max €1,300 (€1/hour reduces deductible to €1,000) + €25 accident fee | Max €1,000 + No accident fee |
Included kilometers | 35 km/day; 4 km/hour | 35 km/day; 4 km/hour | 40 km/day; 5 km/hour | 50 km/day; 6 km/hour |
Mobility protection | Return transport or trip to destination (no replacement car) | €2 per rental for a replacement car (max. 3 days) | Full protection incl. free replacement car (max. 3 days) | Full protection incl. free replacement car (max. 3 days) |
Unlock fee | €1.50 per rental | €1 per rental | None | None |
1. Accident Fees:
Accident fees and deductibles apply only if the renter is at fault. Deductible reductions are based on hourly rental durations.
2. Mileage Package:
• Mileage allowances vary based on subscription level. Excess mileage beyond the included package is charged additionally.
3. Mobility Protection:
• Standard Plan: Only transport back home or to the desired destination is included in case of a breakdown or accident.
• Silver Plan: Option to add replacement car coverage for €2 per rental.
• Gold and Platinum Plans: Full mobility protection with free replacement car for up to 3 days.
4. Unlock Fee:
• Standard and Silver plans include a small unlock fee per rental, while Gold and Platinum plans have no unlock fee.
Unlock Fee:
For Standard and Silver subscriptions, an unlock fee is charged once per rental to activate the trip.
Note:
The deductible varies between €1,000 and €1,500 depending on the subscription and options. Renters are only liable if they are clearly at fault in an accident. The vehicles are privately owned, and this deductible protects our loyal vehicle owners. Our carsharing network is based on mutual respect between renters and owners. This policy aims not to discourage but to sensitize renters to treat LetzGo vehicles as their own.
Example – Standard Subscription (€1,500 deductible + €50 accident fee):
• If repair costs are €3,500, you pay €1,500 (maximum) + €50 processing fee.
• If repair costs are €500 (e.g., a mirror or wheel), you pay €500 + €50; the remaining €1,000 is refunded.
Key Points:
• You only pay for damages up to the maximum of your deductible.
• Any remaining deductible amount is refunded to your account after the processing period.
Mileage Packages:
Each subscription includes a specific mileage allowance. For example:
• Standard Subscription: Renters can drive up to 35 km per day or 4 km per hour free of charge (e.g., a 4-hour rental allows 16 km free – outbound and return combined).
• Only total kilometers at the end of the trip are considered, rounded to the nearest kilometer.
These measures aim to avoid unnecessary mileage, benefiting both the environment and the renter's wallet while minimizing wear and tear on the owner’s vehicle. Any additional kilometers beyond the package are billed separately.
Vehicle Type | Price/Hour | Price/Day | Extra km |
---|---|---|---|
Economy | €6,5 | €65 | €0.65/km |
Economy E | €6 | €60 | €0.60/km |
Compact | €7,5 | €75 | €0.70/km |
Compact E | €7 | €70 | €0.65/km |
• These prices are determined based on the vehicle category (e.g., Economy or Compact) and the new car price, considering other conditions like mileage and age. Vehicle brands do not influence prices.
• Maximum Rental Duration: Seven days. Extensions may be requested via email to contact@letzgo-carsharing.lu and must be approved.
• Reservation Limit: Up to 8 consecutive hours. Rentals exceeding this limit are automatically charged the daily rate and mileage package.
• Fuel: Always included in the price!
• Daily Kilometer Limit: Vehicles must not exceed 100 km/day. If this limit is exceeded for valid reasons, contact the LetzGo Call Center for approval. Excess mileage is charged double (up to 10 km over), and violations above 110 km/day may result in further penalties.
2.1 Invoicing for Renters
Rental invoices include:
1. Rental price (hourly or daily).
2. Extra kilometers beyond the free limit.
3. Selected additional options, such as full mobility protection, unlock fees, or deductible reductions.
Additional Costs:
4. Deductible (for self-inflicted damage).
5. Respect Fees and processing charges (for violations of terms by renters or owners).
The reservation amount and deductible are charged to your account before the rental. Any extra costs, such as additional kilometers or penalties, are deducted within 14 days after the rental. The final invoice is emailed within 14 days and is also available in your account. Extra costs resulting from breakdowns, accidents, or other incidents are billed later and must be paid within 14 days.
Trial Period:
Each new subscription includes a one-month trial. During this period, you may cancel your subscription or switch to another plan without specific reasons. Afterward, the contract continues for one year. Subscriptions auto-renews every year unless canceled or changed. The minimum duration after not cancelling after the trial month goes for one whole year.
Payment Terms:
Ensure your account/card has sufficient funds for timely payments. Delayed payments may incur penalties per the Respect Rules. In severe cases, LetzGo Carsharing reserves the right to revoke your usage rights, cancel all pre-booked rentals, and invalidate accumulated credits without refunds.
For inquiries, issues, or errors, email LetzGo customer support at contact@letzgo-carsharing.lu within 30 days.
Mileage Calculation:
Mileage is only calculated after the trip starts and includes the distance from departure to the agreed return point. Refunds for unused kilometers below the package allowance are not permitted.
2.2 Vehicle Owner Subscriptions and Pricing
To list your vehicle on LetzGo Carsharing, you must make it available for a minimum of 10 days per month, for at least 8 hours per day.
Subscription Options for Owners:

• €20/month: Available for 15–21 days per month.
• €15/month: Available for more than 21 days per month.
Initial Network Stability:
To ensure a stable carsharing network during the launch phase, only owners offering their vehicles for more than 21 days per month will be accepted in the first months. These owners also receive the first two months free of charge. Afterward, €15 per month will be automatically debited from the owner’s bank account.
If an owner fails to meet their commitments (e.g., insufficient rental days), a polite reminder will be sent. After two failures, we may terminate the contract, and a penalty will be applied.
Definition of a Rental Day:
A “rental day” requires the vehicle to be available for at least 10 consecutive hours and made accessible no later than 2:00 PM.
Vehicle Listing Terms:
• Vehicles are listed on a monthly basis. Once listed, your car must remain available for the entire month under the subscription terms and pricing.
• You can remove your car from the platform at any time but can only relist it when space is available. The number of vehicles in service is limited monthly.
• You can remove your car from the platform at any time but can only relist it when space is available. The number of vehicles in service is limited monthly.
• Subscriptions run for one (1) full year (365 days) starting from the initial listing. A control unit will be installed in your vehicle, enabling app connectivity and all necessary rental data management.
• If you remove your car from the service before the end of the year, a fee will apply based on the applicable Respect Rules (e.g., for removing the control unit).
Monthly Listing and Adjustments:
• The listing period begins on the 1st day of each new month and ends on the 30th/31st. If no changes are made, the contract is automatically renewed for the next month.
• You can modify rental criteria at any time, including the number of rental days, which affects your subscription price.
Permanent Registration:
Once your car is registered on LetzGo, its details remain in the system. If you remove the car from the platform, re-registration is unnecessary. However, if the network is at capacity, you may need to wait for availability before relisting your car. Vehicles are activated for rentals on the 1st of the month for logistical reasons.

A. Before Renting (For Owners)
Before listing your vehicle for rental, ensure the following:
1. Vehicle Condition:
Verify that your vehicle is in good condition and poses no safety risk to renters:
• Up-to-date technical inspection.
• Tires checked for condition and pressure.
• Maintenance and oil changes completed (including checks on brake fluid, antifreeze, engine oil, and windshield washer fluid).
• Safety equipment available: warning triangle and safety vest.
2. Place the Following in the Glovebox:
• Copy of the vehicle registration certificate.
• European accident report form.
• Fuel card (sent to you after registration).
• Vehicle keys.
3. Lock the Vehicle Using the App:
Always lock the car using the LetzGo app, not the physical key. Otherwise, renters will not be able to unlock the vehicle.
4. Fuel Guidelines:
• Fuel consumption is always included in the rental price (including additional kilometers).
• At the end of the month, the owner is reimbursed for fuel used during rentals, calculated using the average fuel price per liter for the month and the number of liters consumed.
Important Rules:
• Tank Level at Listing: The vehicle must have at least 50% fuel before being listed for rental (100% is preferable).
• If the fuel level drops below 25% during a rental, the renter must refuel using the provided fuel card (up to the first click).
• Renters must photograph the fuel gauge before and after the rental and enter the fuel levels in the app (in most cases, these levels are automatically recorded in the app).
• Excess fuel added by renters will be credited to the owner in the end-of-month statement. Deviations of up to 5% are acceptable. More significant discrepancies may result in minor penalties.
• Incorrect refueling (e.g., using the wrong fuel type) will result in Respect Fees and other applicable costs charged to the renter.
• Refueling or charging is only allowed at designated partner stations in Luxembourg, listed in the app and on the website.
Bonus for Refueling: Renters may earn a bonus for refueling, which is automatically credited toward their next booking.
Charging Guidelines (For Electric Vehicles):
• Owners must ensure their vehicle is listed with at least 50% charge (preferably fully charged).
• Renters can return the vehicle to a preferred charging station (e.g., near the owner’s home) or a free charging station in the same municipality (with owner approval).
• Owners are encouraged to unplug the car from a free charging station and move it when fully charged to allow other drivers to charge their vehicles.
• For long-term rentals (minimum one day): The renter must return the car with at least 70% charge using the provided charge card or a free charging station in Luxembourg.
• For short-term rentals (minimum 3 hours): If the battery level drops below 20%, the renter must recharge the vehicle to at least 50% to complete the rental. Failure to do so may result in penalties.
• Bonuses for recharging may be applied for future bookings.
Note: These fuel and charging guidelines are subject to further refinement and may change before the official launch of LetzGo Carsharing. Updates will be detailed on the website and in the app.

Cleaning Fees (For Vehicle Owners):
• Owners must ensure their vehicles are in a presentable and clean condition on the outside. This responsibility lies with the owner.

• Important: If the car is locked or unlocked with the physical key, renters will not be able to access it, and the car’s immobilizer will activate.
5. Reviews:
• Owners can leave reviews for renters to help other owners assess potential renters.
Insurance Coverage
Comprehensive insurance, including liability coverage, is provided during the rental period, except for self-inflicted damages or violations of rules.

Loss of Deductible Coverage:
The deductible is not covered in cases of:
• Failure to follow the vehicle manual or manufacturer’s instructions.
• Violating Luxembourgish laws.
• Breaching LetzGo’s General Terms and Conditions.
Important Notes:
• Respect Fees may be charged for rule violations.
• LetzGo’s insurance may refuse coverage and pursue legal action for violations.
Mobility Protection
1. Minor Incident (e.g., a repairable breakdown allowing continuation of the trip):
• Contact LetzGo Carsharing Assistance.
• On-site repair is provided, and the trip can resume.
• Time lost during the repair is not refunded.
• If the delay impacts the next renter, they will be compensated but cannot cancel.
2. Major Incident (e.g., breakdown or accident preventing continuation):
Scenario 1: Short Rental (less than 5 hours remaining or total rental duration under 5 hours)
• No replacement vehicle is provided due to logistical challenges.
• LetzGo covers alternative transportation (e.g., taxi, shuttle) up to €100.
• Renters decide whether to return home or continue to their original destination.
Scenario 2: Longer Rental (minimum of 5 hours remaining or total rental duration over 5 hours)
• Renters are entitled to a replacement vehicle unless they have a Standard subscription without Mobility Protection.
Steps:
1. The damaged vehicle is taken to a partner workshop.
2. Renters and passengers are transported to the ACL, where a replacement vehicle is provided (up to 3 days, depending on the subscription). A €500 deposit is required, refundable if no damages occur.
3. Renters must return the replacement vehicle to the ACL by the end of the rental period.
4. Updates will be sent via the app. If the original vehicle is repaired during the rental, the renter must return the replacement car at least 1 hour before the rental ends.
5. Renters will be transported to collect the repaired vehicle and must return it promptly to the agreed location.
5.2 Conditions for Owners
Owners may lose insurance coverage if:
• They fail to properly verify renter documents listed in the rental agreement.
• They make false claims (e.g., damages unrelated to the rental). LetzGo’s software tracks rental data, including sensor and photo records, to verify claims.
• They fail to report incidents within 5 business days.
• They sign an unofficial rental agreement with the renter.
• They lack personal insurance on their vehicle.
• Their vehicle does not meet technical inspection standards.
• They accept partial or full payments outside the LetzGo platform.
• They allow rental extensions without informing LetzGo.
Recommendations:
• Confirm with your insurance provider that carsharing is permitted under your policy.
• LetzGo’s comprehensive insurance covers all incidents during rentals, including third-party liability and roadside assistance.
Important Notes:
• Owners must retain their personal insurance policy, even if the car is used exclusively for rentals.
• The vehicle’s insurance certificate must always be in the car, e.g., for police inspections.
LetzGo’s insurance is automatically activated for every rental, and opting out is not permitted.
Mileage Limitations:
• If your personal insurance has a mileage cap, ensure your rentals do not exceed it. Consult your provider to avoid complications.
Fees and Penalties
The LetzGo concept relies on mutual respect between renters and owners. To maintain this standard, penalties may be applied for violations of the Respect Rules, which form part of our fundamental guidelines.
Examples of fees include:
• Late Return Fees: Charged if the vehicle is not returned on time.
• Cleaning Fees: Applied if vehicles are returned in an excessively dirty condition.
Details of these rules and associated fees are available on our website www.letzgo-carsharing.lu. All customers must adhere to them. The Respect Rules and conditions are integral to these Terms and Conditions (T&C).
Breakdowns, Accidents, and General Damages

Theft
In the event of theft:
1. The renter must immediately contact the police and file a report.
2. Inform the LetzGo Carsharing Call Center and the vehicle owner by phone.
3. LetzGo will immobilize the vehicle using the control unit, enabling police to locate it.
4. LetzGo will arrange transportation for the renter back to their destination.
Cross-Border Travel
Cross-border trips to neighboring countries (France, Germany, and Belgium) are permitted. However, LetzGo Assistance is only available within a certain radius of Luxembourg’s borders. If assistance is required beyond 10 km from the border, the renter will be responsible for costs as outlined in the Respect Rules.
